As a proud supporter of the RARE youth initiative, we are currently offering a real world opportunity as an Executive Research Intern – Rare Diseases & Advanced Therapies to join us for a six weeks volunteer work experience, where you will learn valuable skills in a supportive work environment.

About the role
The Executive Researcher Internship is an exciting opportunity to get involved in market intelligence with the aim of driving therapies for rare disease. In the role you will work on gathering targeted market intelligence to be utilised as a business support tool through the entire business development lifecycle from lead generation, client development, and conversion to revenue-generating projects.
* Whilst this is an unpaid voluntary work experience position, a gestural commission will be payable to successful candidates for research work that leads to revenue generation. In addition, the efforts this person puts in will have a direct impact on revenue generation which could ultimately lead to them creating a very well paid job for themselves – the power is literally in their hands.
Key responsibilities
Market research and intelligence;
Identification and shortlisting of candidates against live or prospect executive search projects
Identification and shortlisting of investors against live or prospect investor search projects
Competitor landscape mapping against prospect client businesses, providing a combination of due-diligence and credibility enhancing market intelligence to business development team
Identification of industry and project relevant conferences, summits, organisations, membership groups and other similar outfits of interest that may offer expanded access to prospect clients
Continuous mapping of new business development targets for consideration including advanced therapies and rare disease Biotechs, specialist advanced therapies and rare disease investor groups, academic partner targets, institutional partner targets and other prospect client targets of interest
Reporting;
Building project related reports in line within specific criteria provided by the business development team
Presentation/communication of project reports to the business development teams against specific deadlines
Regular video and face-to-face meetings with managing director for project reporting, training & development and general communications as is necessary
Additional responsibilities
As a young start-up business there may also be opportunities to be involved in additional responsibilities in support of the evolving business objectives. This could include;
Attending conferences as a company representative
Supporting managing director with additional organisational duties
Direct contact with candidates/clients as per project needs
Volunteering and support for charity events for rare disease or advanced therapies related organisations
Other ad-hoc research projects
Experience, Qualifications & Skills (E = Essential / P = Preferable)
Proficient in basic use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (E)
Clear communicator both written and verbal—good command of English language (E)
Self-Disciplined, able to manage own time efficiently with confidence towards meeting time-sensitive project deadlines (E)
Scientific Degree or equivalent experience being exposed to life sciences industry (P)

You will report directly to the founder of the business; a trained trainer, coach and mentor with 14 years recruitment experience within the industry, including five years as a recruitment-academy training manager within one of the world’s largest specialist pharmaceutical recruitment consultancies.
