Mendel Partners is a start-up Executive Recruitment and Investor Search services company, exclusively dedicated to the advanced therapies and rare diseases sector.
A core strategy for the business is to develop a dedicated Biotech start-up services model, building core relationships with promising conceptual, pre-commercial and early-stage clients as they attempt to transfer into commercially viable Biotech organisations.
The main purpose of this strategy will be to win exclusive, multi-faceted business by building value for our clients well-ahead of them becoming visible to our large competitor market. This will lead to short-, mid- and long-term revenue generation capabilities across our Executive Recruitment and Investor Search services, and through the utilisation of our unique combination of fee-for-service, funding-first and equity-partner contract models.
As a proud supporter of the rare youth initiative, we are currently offering real world opportunities as an Investor Search Specialist to join us for 6 weeks+ work experience.
About the Role
The Investor Search Specialist plays a critical role supporting Biotech clients in identifying, attracting, and securing interest from multiple private investors relevant to their fundraising needs which will directly impact and enhance the opportunity of bringing life-changing and life-saving treatments to waiting patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
Qualification and analysis of Biotech client needs to establish most suitable Target Investor Profiles (TIPs)
Identification and shortlisting of investment organisations against TIPs
Use of CipherBio life sciences investor database software
Use of LinkedIn Recruiter Software
Competitor & technology landscape mapping
Disease area research
In-house database interrogation
Identification of industry and project relevant conferences, summits, organisations, membership groups and other similar outfits of interest that may offer expanded or high-volume access to TIPs
Identification, analysis and selection of most appropriate individual contacts against TIPs
Consultation and reporting with Managing Director on TIP selection processes and progress
Submission of client investment opportunities to TIPs
Record keeping of TIP outreach progress (using Excel)
Arranging introductions between engaged TIPs and clients
Attendance to introductory meetings/VCs between TIPs/Clients (for learning and development purposes)
Experience, qualifications and skills (E = Essential / P = Preferable)
Clear communicator both written and verbal – good command of the English language (E)
Self-Disciplined, able to manage own time efficiently with confidence towards meeting time-sensitive project deadlines (E)
