Welcome back to our series "Letters to my younger self".
If you could, what would you tell a younger you? What advice would you give? What tips could a younger you use to deal with the struggles you know are coming?
In this series, RARE Youth Revolution is reaching out to some of the slightly older members of our community who know what it is like to grow up with a rare disease.
By writing letters to their younger selves, we hope that they can offer some advice and guidance that benefits all young people with rare diseases.
Hey Kaz,
I know you are still constantly wondering what’s up with your body since you are unusually tall, have pits in your hands, and keep getting cysts in your gums that have to be removed.

You have seen multiple dermatologists, had many doctors and orthodontist appointments, and been seen by two oral surgery practices. However, I have good news that soon you will go to your first genetic counselling appointment as a recommendation by your second oral surgeon, whose hunch on your diagnosis will be confirmed correct.

More recently, you are cyst-free and living life!
You are now at your third oral surgery, an awesome genetic counsellor, and a dermatologist who wrote the chapter on Gorlin-Goltz Syndrome!
Love your current self,
Kazumi
